Spiuk Sportline hails from the Basque Country of Spain and began in 1996 with a modest line of socks and clothing accessories for the Spanish market. The high quality and attractive price of the products created immediate demand and requests from dealers and consumers for additional products. Within two years Spiuk had developed a full line of cycling and triathlon clothing and accessories to meet these requests. This too was a success and led to the introduction of a full line of helmets and eyewear that rapidly captured a large market share. Spiuk soon became one of the most popular and in-demand brands in Spain. The entire Spiuk line was also adopted by professional cyclists, triathletes, runners, mountain climbers, and trekkers, and relationships with top athletes quickly developed. NYC Velo is a different kind of bike shop. Opened in May 2005, it is a shop owned and staffed by cyclists, for cyclists. All NYC Velo staff are bike professionals and are dedicated to offering the City’s highest quality customer service.

We are a small, family-owned business catering to commuters, messengers, recreational, and serious cyclists. NYC Velo carries road, mountain, cyclocross, hybrid, singlespeed, and fixed gear bikes.

NYC Velo is located in the East Village (2nd Avenue between 3rd and 4th Streets). Owner Andrew Crooks, with the help of his family and friends, and Freecell Architecture, restored the space’s architectural elements and converted it into the highest quality bike shop in Manhattan (see pictures featured on nyvelocity.com).
