Chris Mecray
Chris joins the squad after two seasons of active racing, most recently with Team NYVeloCity in 2006. With an athletic background in rowing and alpine ski racing during school years, Chris began his cycling career at the ripe age of 31. After several years of casual riding to “find the legs” and work off the fat from 10 years of Wall St desk work, he started racing in the fall of 2004. Early top-10 placings in the 2005 season as a Cat 5/4 and a top quartile GC placing at GMSR provided encouragement to continue. 2006 proved a solid success, including two wins in CRCA “B” races and top-10 finishes at Palmer, Harlem and Lou Maltese, though also plenty of bad luck with multiple crashes and flats. With some solid early results in 2007 including several top-10s and 3rd at Bear Mtn Cat 4, Mecray has recently upgraded to Cat 3 and looks forward to an active summer racing calendar. Chris splits time between NYC and Princeton NJ, where he works at BlackRock, Inc. as a mutual fund analyst.
